Wedding Wednesday: Monique + Josh

Everything about this wedding from Style Me Pretty makes my heart swell.

The rose colored flowers, African print bow ties, the flower girls’ head bands,  the red rain boots, the authentic Haitian food, the do-it-together buffet; every detail of this June New Hampshire wedding was well contemplated and executed.  What a lovely couple!

Take a look at the good stuff below, and check out the deets @ Style Me Pretty

Wedding Wednesday!: An Afro-Caribbean Affair

When I came across this natural modern wedding on Munaluchi Bridal’s website, all I could do was smile!  Although not as elaborate or glamorous as the other real weddings featured, the natural and modern decor held authentic African elements that stole my heart, and I couldn’t help but share with you all this spectacular love story.

Marie-Frances and Wednaud are a Cameroonian and Haitian couple who met during college.  This eight-year courtship led to the wonderful celebration represented below.  Take a look at the photo gallery, and read their story here.

Wedding Wednesday: A Moroccan + Caribbean Affair

My favorite kinds of weddings thus far are affairs that merge cultures together, whether through the ceremony, decor, or fashion.  There is something about gathering friends and family together and choosing to honor culture and tradition.

The following wedding captured my attention yesterday afternoon, as it exemplified what it means to move beyond cultural barriers and to celebrate the differences we all share.

Cynthia + Hatim

The groom being Moroccan and the bride being Caribbean, there were two weddings held: one in Paris, France (where they both live), and the other in Morocco.  How amazing is that??!

This cake is too cute and to die for!!

Moroccan inspired reception decor–oh so tastefully done!
